Good fortune is supported
through commitment to the wise use of time
It is within the true nature of fire
to consume the fuel and move on.
Fire cannot exist without a source of fuel to cling to.
The sun and moon cling to heaven.
The grass and trees cling to earth.
Fire in the morning,
the sun awakens all living things,
thus the day begins.
Fire in the evening, do not yield
to lamenting that time has passed.
The community clings to the wise use of time.
Be flexible in compliance with the ways of nature.
As the sun sets the wise prepare for rest,
avoiding the temptation to burn low
the life force through revelry.
Your recognition of limitations
depends on your understanding
of the forces of the universe.
The light of clarity within
depends on strict adherence
of conformity with what is correct.
The outcome depends on
what you value and the actions of the day.
Clarity of purpose is the source of your prosperity.
The clarity of the light
is reflected within the self
Fire has no definite form
but clings to the source
and thus is bright.
Our life is defined by what we cling to.
When the brightness of the day withdraws, the light of the moon penetrates the darkness.
As I stand in the light of the day,
I am warmed by the fire
gifted by the sun.
The light within is my fire,
gifted at birth.
As the day ends I prepare for rest,
to restore and nurture the source of my life’s force.
